I worked in the high-tech industry for the past 25 years as a test engineer. I've built and tested semiconductor test equipment, worked in incoming and tested all the components that came in to build the testers. I then worked at several semiconductor companies writing test programs for various semiconductors. I then made a switch and started testing software on Cisco routers. I enjoyed it but after being laid off in 2009, I took a look at where I was and realized I no longer had the passion, nor the drive, for this any more.
What I did have was a passion for cooking, wine, great food, restaurants, and serving people. So I decided to get into restaurant management (with a dream of owning my own place some day). That's how I ended up at PCI - not only do I get a good restaurant management education, I also get culinary classes and a wine foundation class (all my passions).
I started the program on December 4, 2009 and plan to complete the classes in the first week of October 2010. Then I need to complete my Capstone Project and Externship. |
